Boy, this really is quite the question and like Phil said, it will spark lots of debate. I have been Tweeting for several months...username is debijones. Generally, I follow those who follow me and I try to add new follows daily.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the point of Twitter was to interact with others and build new relationships. So why would Mike want to get rid of all those who he really doesnt know?

Hi Zoe,

Great article.

I also saw Mike D's email about him culling his followers. I couldn't help think that it was in response the the twitter training that Mike Klingler and Ann put out, could be wrong.

I follow all sorts of people on twitter and get heaps of interesting snippets come my way. It's like having a human search engine, I love it. Mike's going to miss all that good stuff, he'll just get dribs and drabs from his inner circle I guess.

Mike did make some good points but I felt that his stance about reciprocal followers being driven by greed was a bit much.

So is it follow the leader but leader no follow follower?

A mere blip on the twitter-sphere I think.

Anyway, it doesn't change that fact that Mike puts out great stuff, but on this one I just kind of felt...what ever Mike!

Wow, I can tell this is going to spark quite the debate. People could back and forth on this for months... It will become referenced and re-tweeted more times than I care to imagine! Yet in the end, my prediction is that there will be no real answer. That is the beauty and genius of the question.

There is no better way to create a buzz then to spark a debate.
